Happy Birthday

4 Apr

Another year passes and we all get older! My birthday was a good one! Well spent with my husband and later in the week able to see my family. Tom and I went to Pappaduex’s and then had cake at in laws! Then on Friday, we went to Wheat’s house and had a Crawfish Boil! Let’s just say I will never look at crawfish the same way again!

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

I'm tired....

At times I think to myself, working nights is a good thing. Then I come home after working 12 hours, literally exhausted. Then I’m staggering to take a shower, eat breakfast, brush my teeth, etc. Then it hits me. I am no longer 25 years old and my body can no longer endure the sleepless nights, and groggy days. I think this is going to be the year that certain things become clearer for me. In other words, that it’s time to hang up the engineering gig . It’s a sad thing, since I have been there 12 years, and after Feb. It will be 13. Crazy how time flies. It’s time to simplify and change. It’s better it be on my terms though. Well, we will see what unfolds. I need to get my resumé out there again. Wish me luck! Another thing I used Meagan’s pic to show that I am not the only one bearing the grunt of off shift hours… Poor Baby….

Other than shopping and good eating, I never saw anything too weird for my taste in Seattle. It was nice weather, killer shopping centers. Hell, they have a Nordstrom’s in every corner. Sara has one in her back yard. But I want to head out to the west coast again sometime soon. All I can say is, I love Texas, but when your flying in to Seattle and you see the bay area, you can’t help but think, What have I been doing my whole life in Texas. I can see why Sara loves it up there……

Happy Five Year Anniversary!

Wedding 2005

Five Years ago I was getting ready to walk down the aisle to begin an exciting new chapter of my life. I married my best friend, a man who would be so understanding, loving, supportive, and most importantly, my husband. I spent my life wondering if my prince was out there, b/c let’s face it I dated some toads. But on April 1o, 2001 I went on my first date and then the rest is all history. I love you Tom, and here’s  to many more anniversaries, trips, memories, and maybe, just maybe to some kids to add to the mix.

My Love

Christmas, End of year wrap up…

29 Dec

Christmas came and went and I am glad it is over. It seems like the only good thing about Christmas is that you get to spend it with the ones you love. My sister Sara came home for the holidays. She lives in Seattle and she wanted to come home to Texas for family time. It was great to see her and I was able to see my nephews. Boy, time flies and I see that they are growing up, and think to myself, ” Where did the time go. It seems like yesterday my Joshua was in diapers in a high chair sitting at the dinner table. My other nephew Jason was a plump little red-headed boy and always smiling with his happy eyes. Now he is still red-headed, but he sure does talk a lot. He reminds me of what it is like to be a kid, curious and always want to see what will happen if I do this or that. We Limon’s tend to learn things the hard way, or shall I say “Our way” like Frank use to say.  Here are some pics of the boys…stole these from Sister’s FB page. I can’t seem to find my camera?
